12 Day Itinerary - Grampians, Mount Buffalo, Alpine NP, Falls Creek, Omeo, Bogong High Plains
This tour will see you enjoying some of Victoria’s best mountain tracks. Starting in the Grampians, famous for its sandstone mountains and home to some of Southeast Australia’s most notable rock art sites. You will encounter Mount Buffalo, one of Australia’s oldest mountain parks, with 360° views from its most prominent peak - the Horn. Traversing through the Alpine National Park, we take in highlights around Falls Creek, Omeo and the Bogong High Plains. With views in all directions and the delights of the snow gum forests, this cooler weather environment brings out the best in its own surroundings.
Day 1 - From Adelaide we travel to the Grampians. 3 nights camping at Halls Gap.
Day 2 - Day walks in the Grampians. Walks will be determined closer to the time.
Day 3 - Day walks in the Grampians. Walks will be determined closer to the time.
Day 4 -From the Grampians to Mount Buffalo. Time for a walk around Lake Catani (3km).
Day 5 - A day walk in the Mount Buffalo National Park. (15km)
Day 6 - A day walk in the Mount Buffalo National Park. (11km)
Day 7 - We drive through Bright, Mount Beauty & Falls Creek to the Bogong High Plains.
Day 8 - A day walk to Pretty Valley Pondage, The Niggerheads and Tawonga Huts. (13km)
Day 9 - Depart Falls Creek heading down to Omeo, the Victoria Falls Historic area and
3 night at Dinner Plain.
Day 10 -Walking the Cobungra Ditch walking trail. (12.5km)
Day 11 - Walk the razorback to Mt Feathertop. (23km)
Day 12 -The final day’s travel takes us down to Melbourne arriving early afternoon.
Itineraries may change depending on local circumstances such as NP access, weather or road conditions
