Exploranges is a Quality Tourism accredited company that has been conducting unique small group tours for more than 40 years. We specialise in off the beaten track remote Australian destinations focused on walking, nature & culture. With an extensive portfolio of tour destinations, we tailor our program every year to offer the best seasonal destinations. We head north in the winter, south towards summer, hunt wildflowers in the spring or can arrange private charters for groups & clubs. Our company has built up a strong reputation over the years for running fully catered camping tours all over Australia. We promise to give you an experience like no other. Founded by Robyn & Graham Guy in 1981 the company was taken over by Ian Ransom in 1999. Ian grew up in the Flinders Ranges, did his apprenticeship in the Army as a mechanic then travelled the world. He worked for Encounter Overland as a guide in Africa, Asia, South America and as the workshop manager rebuilding their purpose made trucks. He is an experienced bushwalker in both Australia and overseas with a keen interest in Australian flora and fauna. Having spent much of the last 20 years acquiring a vast knowledge of birds and plants in this country while running his bushwalking tours, Ian is now a 'walking encyclopaedia' on all things native. His guided walks allow you to appreciate the environment on many different levels, looking at the indigenous plants and animals, the geology, the local history and aboriginal culture. Learning about a region's natural and cultural history deepens your understanding of the bush and enhances your enjoyment of a tour with a depth of knowledge.

Your comfort on our tours is assured with travel in our comfortable tour buses - the beloved Australian make OKAs. These are 4 wheel drive tour buses and, in our experienced opinion, are the only way to travel outback - safe, comfortable, offering great visibility and good ground clearance. They have air-conditioning, reclinable coach-style seating plus a decent amount of leg room. On board the OKAs we carry a combination of 4G mobile and satellite phones plus a UHF radio so that even when we are miles away in fantastic remote locations we are never more than a phone call away in an emergency. The 12 passenger OKA tows a trailer which houses the fridge-freezer, camping equipment, all supplies and your luggage. Everything in its place and a place for everything.

Your tours are as relaxed as possible with a level of comfort you wouldn't normally expect from a camping tour operator. We take care of your sleeping arrangements for you by supplying tents which are twin-size and tall enough to let you stand up inside. Those of you who are travelling alone will automatically get your own tent. Inside we place a stretcher to keep you up off the ground and your swag comes complete with sleeping bag, laundered liner and pillow. It also has a self-inflating air mattress for extra comfort and warmth. On the bushwalks you each have use of a day pack, which includes a basic emergency kit and a water bottle.

Meals on Exploranges tours are guaranteed to be a highlight of your holiday. From morning tea on day one to afternoon tea on the last day, all meals are included. Whether you are vegetarian, gluten-free, diabetic or have any other dietary requirements all you need do is let us know when you book, and we will ensure you eat well. Food is a pleasure, after all, and we take care to serve you the best camp fayre possible. We even take the time to make our own jams, sauces & chutney the old fashion way.
