Exploranges Pty Ltd - celebrating over 35 years of tours!

Established in 1981, Exploranges Bushwalking Tours offers groups of 6 to 19 people the opportunity to participate in guided day hikes, visiting off-track areas without the burden of overnight backpacks.

As all tours have many camps of 2 nights or longer, the relaxed pace gives ample time to pursue your special interests, be they botany, ornithology, photography, fossicking, painting or simply appreciating the grandeur of the outback.

Founded by Robyn & Graham Guy in 1981 and then taken over by Ian Ransom in 1999, the company has built up a strong reputation over the years for running fully catered camping tours all over Australia.

Ian Ransom

Ian grew up in the Flinders Ranges, did his apprenticeship in the Army as a mechanic then travelled the world. He worked for Encounter Overland as a guide in Africa, Asia, South America and as the workshop manager rebuilding their purpose made trucks.

He is an experienced bushwalker in both Australia and overseas with a keen interest in Australian flora and fauna. Having spent much of the last 15 years acquiring a vast knowledge of birds and plants in this country while running his bushwalking tours, Ian is now a 'walking encyclopaedia' on all things native.

In addition to his understanding of natural history, Ian also brings along a comprehensive library of reference books on all tours. With a range of books on each region's natural and cultural history, Ian makes sure that the relevant texts are on board the OKAs.

The guided walks allow you to appreciate the environment on many different levels, looking at the indigenous plants and animals, the geology, the local history and aboriginal culture. Learning about a region's natural and cultural history deepens your understanding of the bush and enhances your enjoyment of a tour with a depth of knowledge.
